Edwards Air Force Base, CA

Eco provided Testing and Quality Assurance Services for construction of an airport landing strip at Edwards Air Force Base.

Testing Services, using ASTM standards, including the following:

• Various Soil Tests including compaction, shear testing, moisture content, soil density, permeability, and soil classification
• Ten forms of Asphalt Tests including compressive strength, density, extraction, penetration, mix design, specific gravity, swell test, cohesion, and plastic flow
• A series of concrete tests including abrasion and absorption tests, specific gravity, sieve analysis, sulfate soundness, density, cement to concrete ratio, and various physical and chemical tests under ASTM C 150

Eco personnel were responsible for obtaining samples and conducting tests in the field. Laboratory analyses were performed in accordance with ASTM standards as well as USACE Unified Facilities Specifications, and the USACE Project Quality Assurance Plan.

Eco provided a Quality Assurance Representative III, which performs the following services:

• Interpretation of plans and specifications relating to construction problems
• Resolve of differences between plans and specifications
• Preparation of inspection reports
• Approval of minor deviations in construction methods
• Preparation of monthly report detailing project status, work completed during the month, list of construction issues
